Piano Recital
Last week i have finally performed a piano piece after a long time of having lessons, of course i am not professional but i have definitely improved my piano skills during my piano course. Throughout the whole course i have found it terribly difficult of having to play both the right hand and left hand at the same time since it is a skill that is earned with practice, but eventually i managed to perform on the school recital. I am glad that i have managed to be committed to the course because it is known that starting is always easy but being able to maintain the same altitude towards something is always a difficult part.

Painting in Little Light
Today,
we have done something a bit different from teaching, PAINTING. All the 'Little
Light' participants have showed up for a great team work, and painted the gate
of theirs in BLUE, but let's begin by step by step. So firstly before any painting, some scratching
had to be done. Many posters were stacked using super glue, and I, Personally
found it really difficult to do so with it. Therefore I have learned some extremely
useful skills when scratching, using water could make it a hell of a lot
easier!! We have spent about 45 min trying to scratch most of the posters then
we immediately got into the painting part. Although I haven’t contributed much
to the painting part, since there were not enough brushes, I played some
football with the kids n I had lots of fun. Eventually it was great to see the
final result of an amazing collaborative team :D

My football season reflection!
After a long tiring, exhasting season of working hard to reach the finals we have finally achieved the finals last Saturday. On our finals we played a difficult match against Agakhan but that was my last chance to break my scoring record of ten goals. Although I am glad my coaches have directed me and taught me important skills in football such as various movements and tactics, we have lost the finals and the highest number of goals I could get was 9 goals, so close! ! So unfortunately I have not broken my scoring records but I am glad that I have contributed a lot to the team. Since the MVP is awarded only at the end of the term there is still time until I would know if i have received it or not but throughout the season I have learned that if I want something, I have to make it happen. Therefore maybe i should try to apply what i have learned in the next football season and look for improvements.
King Solomon said that it is always better to Talk less but Work hard, so maybe i should not be over confident about breaking my record until the last minute.

WoBuLeNzI TrIp 2013!!
Last week, my colleagues and I finally went to WTA as one of our CAS projects this year, through the trip and especially throughout the preparation for the trip I have earned several learning outcomes. One of my group's workshops for the trip was Origami, a Japanese art of folding paper. I have never really expertised in origami or even tried it before therefore, the preparation for it required lots of practicing. I have found it really difficult at the beginning to get the right steps at the right order however after lots of wasted paper, i have developed several techniques and managed to get them in a faster time which i was really glad eventually. Moreover, I was really satisfied overcoming new challenges such as building a shelter out of wood, which is an experience I would not forget. I have found it really challenging at first hammering the woods to each other, lots of strength and accuracy was needed and unfortunately this skill did not come at once... However on the other side another one of our morning activities was painting in which i have tried a couple of time before, therefore it was a great opportunity to further develop my painting skills although the trip has required to paint a larger area then I usually did. Although i have managed to earn several interesting learning outcomes from different activities on the trip, I have managed to practice my teaching and interacting skills. At the beginning of the trip I was not so clear in my speaking and did not really know how to approach the students, however after watching out after every single word i say it even made it easier in teaching them and helping them understand what i really want.

LiTtLe LiGhT!
For the past couple of weeks I have been attending to a place called "Little Light". In that place I am volunteering to direct little kids and teach them English and some Maths. Throught my visits in Little Light i have gone out with a great feeling, sort of like satisfaction. I was really proud of my self I am supporting little kids and that really what mattered for me!!
I met two great kids called Trevor and Baron, (also great football players)... I have been teaching them mostly English recently. Although i really enjoyed meeting them i had to face some difficulties in teaching them. For example since English isn't their first language it took me some time (and LOTS of creativity!) to explain them what I really want from them, (now i really feel sorry for my Spanish teacher, trying to teach me and my colleagues Spanish).
I have been trying to form a bond between them and I, so they would be more motivated to succeed later on... Though at the beginning it was not easy, I assume they had lots of fun later on, especially beating me in football. It was not easy to find a way of teaching them most effectively, and yet i still have not figured it out!
I hope in the coming up meeting I will form a technique to get them to their maximum and mostly intrested...

Preparing For Wobulenzi!! :D
SO! Next week on Monday, we (My classmates and my teachers) are all heading for our outdoor Ed. Trip in which we will be heading to Wobulenzi (a local school in Uganda). For our Wobulenzi trip, our class was divided in several groups and each groups would be preparing an activity to be taught in Wobulenzi such as and volunteer in other activities such as painting. My group has perpared Origami lessons and graffiti designs that would be done in the place. However since in order to achieve this task money had to be raised for buying all the equipments...
THAT'S WHY>>
My group has prepared a football tournament in the school ! We have came up with a football tournament that participation would require payment (in order to raise money of course) and food was also sold and music was also provided (FOR FREEEE). Gladly enough people participated although not the amount we expected and it was a very spiritual event. Classes from YR 7 to IB2 have participated....
Surprisingly.. The YR 7's have beaten the older girls and even my team!! (IB 1) I guess we have deserved it for underestimating them. I was very glad to see their spirit and eventually they reached the finals but lost.
That was the first time I have taken a big part in organizing such an event, and I have met many difficulties such as finding enough teams to participate organize a schedule to play in a VERY SHORT NOTICE... Eventually it all went well and we have manged to raise up enough money for the equipment needed.

My first MUN entery!
So for the past couple of weeks I have been attending the MUN club after school which stands for Model United Nations. In our MUN class we deal and analyze global issues, for example
recently we have been speaking about the Syrian civil war. We have been
searching for causes of the war and the current developments of the
issue. However, since there were many recent developments, it was
difficult to stay up to date. In our club we have got divided to several
groups and each group was representing a country that is involved with
the Syrian conflict. Each group had to write a position paper from a
different country's perception on the conflict. The country I was representing was Lebanon and since I am Israeli, it was interesting to see that conflict from another perspective. I hope that in our next couple of weeks we will be more concentrating on debating, which we have not done so far...

PROGRESSION IS MADE!!
Last week on Thursday, I had my second piano lesson. My teacher and I have finally started to work on some more complicated piano pieces! Already on the second lesson I have managed to combine the right and the left hand... However, I am still very concerned, since I find it really difficult to read the music notes and bring them into playing at the same time, which was one of my main goals before starting this activity. I did manage to do some progress in reading and playing the notes but i still believe there is a lot more practice to be done. Another goal my teacher and I have set until the end of our lessons is that i would play in a music concert. Well, he suggested it and I desperately said yes, but I do think playing in a concert could be a great chance to bring what I have learned to performance.
But before I have the right to talk about playing in a concert! which seems impossible right now due to my lacking piano skills, this is what I did on my second lesson..
Check it out!1 ... :)

My first Piano lesson :)
So for my first year of CAS I have decided to learn an instrument (For Creativity) in which I am not familiar with for example, Piano. Last week on Thursday the 12th of September, I had my first piano lesson with one of the school teachers for piano. On my first lesson, my piano teacher has taught me the basic knowledge for piano such as reading music notes and their placement on the piano. At the moment, I found lots of fun in it however it is gonna take some time and practice to get somewhere!
And here's a video of what I have learned in my first lesson:
